Super Mario RPG (SNES)

Released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo, Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars is the first role playing game that Mario ever appeared in. Developed by Square, the makers of the Final Fantasy series, Mario RPG follows Mario on a unique quest to gather seven stars with new and old characters from the Mario series. Mario RPG is a turn based role playing game that is simple but full of life.

Mario RPG is one of the most overlooked games in the Mario series. Many know about Mario's side scrolling adventures, but few know about his role playing ones. Mario RPG introduces multiple characters that are never seen in the Mario franchise. Mario RPG jumpstarted all of the Paper Mario games and and Mario and Luigi role playing games. With multiple worlds to explore and hours of gameplay, Mario RPG is full of things to do.

Mario RPG is a game that was ahead of its time. The style is very unique, and many did not apprectiate it until years after its release. Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars is one of my favorite games in the series. I highly recommend it to any fans of Mario or role playing games.
