Released in 1998 in the United States, Quest 64 goes by many names in different countries. In Europe, Austria and New Zealand, Quest 64 is known as Holy Magic Century and Eltale Monsters in Japan.

Quest 64 is the first role playing game released in North America, and it received mixed reviews. Quest 64 follows a young apprentice mage named Brian, who is on a quest to find his father. Brian has to collect elemental amulets, criminals and the final boss.

The gameplay in Quest 64 is based off of how the player performs in battle. There is not traditional experience system, and each player will level up in a different way. The player can upgrade their specific elements of magic to upgrade (Fire, Earth, Water and Wind.) Brian can get new attacks and abilities depending on which elements the player decides to use.

Quest 64 is a very interesting game. It has a lot of elements that are unique, but it does not reach a lot of the expectations of a normal RPG. I think that Quest 64 is a worthy addition to the N64's lineup, and it caters to Nintendo and RPG fans specifically.
