Dark Cloud (PS2)

Dark Cloud was released in 2001 and developed by Level-5. Dark Cloud is a role-playing game with city building elements. The game follows a group of adventurers who work to destroy an evil genie who has terrorized villages and homes around the world. The story follows Toan, a boy who is given a magical stone which is used to rebuild the villages. Toan travels through each village and meets many who help him in his journey to restore the world. Dark Cloud received great reviews from critics, and it has drawn a lot of comparisons to The Legend of Zelda series with some of the action based gameplay elements.

Dark Cloud is a third person action role playing game. The player earns special items known as Atla which are used to rebuild the towns. Instead of leveling up from combat, the player levels up his or her weapons.

Dark Cloud is a unique addition to the Playstation 2's library. Anyone who is a fan of RPGs, action based titles and building simulators should play this game. It is so deep and full of content that Dark Cloud will entertain anyone for a long period of time.
