If I had to choose one game from my childhood that stood out to me the most, it would have to be Spyro Year of the Dragon for the PS1. Released in 2002, Spyro Year of the Dragon is the third title in the Spyro series. The player follows Spyro, a purple dragon, on his mission to recover stolen dragon eggs and return peace to his world. This game is different from the others because the player has the ability to play as four additional characters through specific missions.
Even though there are these character specific missions, the core Spyro gameplay is still in tact. This game is a collect-a-thon. Players collect dragon eggs, gems and complete various mini-games. This is my favorite title in the entire series. There are so many memorable characters who make this world seem so real.

All of the music in this game was produced by Steward Copeland, a former drummer for The Police. The music in this game is catchy, and I still find myself searching for it on YouTube every once in a while.
Spyro Year of the Dragon is one of the best platforms of its time. I highly recommend this game and personally cannot wait to jump back into this game to reminisce my countless hours spent playing.
