Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg was Released in 2003 and developed by Sonic Team. Billy Hatcher is a GameCube exclusive that takes place in the world of Morning Land, a world of peaceful chickens. Billy is transported to Forest Village, and he is told that he must defeat the crows who are terrorizing and planning to destroy the world. Billy receives the Legendary Chicken Suit, and he begins his adventure to bring peace back to Morning Land.
This game was not very popular during its initial release, however, it has gained a lot of popularity over the years.
Billy Hatcher has a very unique style of gameplay. The player can control Billy like a normal plat former, but he is very slow and clunky. When Billy pushes around giant eggs, the give him more speed, power and a greater ability to jump. This gameplay element is similar to Glover on the Nintendo 64 which requires the player to always carry around a ball shaped object for each mission.
Billy pushes around eggs and acquires fruit throughout each mission. The egg will get bigger, and different animals can hatch from each egg. These animals help Billy in specific situations. Certain eggs have the Sonic Team logo on them, and they can hold characters from the Sonic and Nights games.

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg is an overlooked title on the GameCube. It has a fun multiplayer mode that encompasses the elements in the single player mode. Currently, the game is relatively cheap and it is more than worth the purchase for any fans of GameCube or Sega games.
