Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance was released in 2001, and it was developed by Snow Blind Studios, Black Isle Studios, Magic Pockets and High Voltage Software.
Dark Alliance is a cooperative dungeon crawler which lets players travel across Baldur's Gate with the ultimate goal to kill the main boss Eldrith. In the beginning of the game, the player chooses between a dwarven fighter, human archer and an elven sorceresses.

Dark Alliance is very similar to the Diable series because of the overhead view, large variance of equipment and character customization. Players level up their character as they kill more enemies, and they become stronger as the game progresses.
The game is pretty linear, but it does give you a lot of ways in which you can deal with enemies and customize your character.
When this game was released, there were not many dungeon crawler games on consoles. These types of games were usually on PC, so it was refreshing to have a different type of game on a home console.

Dark Alliance is a great game to run through with a friend. It has great combat and an engaging story to keep your interested. There is a Dark Alliance two, but it was not as popular as the first game. Fans have begged for a third game, but it looks like we will never see it come to fruition.
